How it works
Its Chinese name jian gu can be translated as "bone strengthener". It is designed to strengthen the "water element." In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is used to nourish the kidneys and nutritionally support the urinary and structural systems, eliminating water and providing extra support to the joints.
Chinese herbalists believe that the herb eucommia "nourishes the yang" of the kidneys, ligaments and bones. Eucommy has been used for hundreds of years in the ancient East for weaknesses. No single herb has been found in the west that can supply it, because of its qualities. Chinese herbalists also believe that the herb achyranthes relieves the body of excess fluids and strengthens it. The Chinese indicate that achyranthes strengthens the liver, kidneys, bones and tendons. It has been used for convalescence, comfort, and for certain gynecological needs.
